I enjoy getting away from home and to explore the world around me. We recently took a 6 day trip to Joshua Tree National Park in California which put me outside of my normal comfort zone and onto some tough climbs. It was a humbling climbing experience and I am now motivated for our Summer climbing season.
Here is a picture from J-Tree...one of the best places on Earth!
people, books, quotes, art, yoga, climbing, running, beauty, humor, feeling fear, breathing mountain air keep me in balance. i'd like to share the moments in life that keep my scales in equilibrium in hopes of adding a smile to your day.

Sunshine
It's SPRING!!! Nothing could be better after a long cold dark winter. Feeling sunshine rays on my face as I run along the road is an amazing feeling. I can feel the energy of the summer infusing into my body! Bring it ON!!

Early Riser Reward
It is so sweet to get up early on a Sunday morning to "be productive" and be rewarded by a gorgeous sunrise! A nice gentle reminder of all the beauty in the world that exists even when I am trapped in the confines of the city.
"This City now doth, like a garment, wear
The beauty of the morning; silent, bare,
Ships, towers, domes, theaters and temples lie
Open unto the fields, and to the sky;
All bright and glittering in the smokeless air."
~William Wordsworth

A Clean House
After avoiding a "heavy clean" since the early winter months this past weekend I gave the house a much needed scrub. I feel so much more relaxed when the house is in order and clean and I'm able to do yoga in the living room without thinking about how much the carpet needs to be vacuumed! BLISS!

Just Be
There are different ways to go through life. One is to push through and make things happen, create your own opportunity and essentially need a lot of energy to move "mountains." And another is to just simply be. This means watching for opportunity as it presents, going along with others decisions and fitting in to a life that surrounds you. It is not until I sat back lately and simply just "am" that I understand the difference. A sense of peace and tranquility arrived in me that was quite unexpected and very welcoming.

A New Coat of Paint
This past weekend we became weekend warriors once again. I painted the bathroom upstairs & Steven tackled our basement bathroom reno...almost done that basement! I brought a pillow from our bedspread & asked the Paint Lady to match it up, which she did really well. Our bathroom is now a luxurious shade of gold./beige and looks like it belongs in a high end hotel. Each time I flick on the light I smile & absorb the beauty of the gorgeous color.
